2023 Coats For Kids Campaign Information Letter

Join us as we celebrate 29 years of successful Coats For Kids campaigns!
As in the past years we are hoping you will support this program by providing the following information in
your September/October parent newsletters. We want to continue to make sure every child in school
stays warm during our cold months.
Donations of children’s winter coats in good condition (zippers working, no tears on the outside or lining
of coat) are needed as well as boots and other winter apparel. You can drop them off from Monday,
September 18th to Friday, September 29th at the following locations or call our office and we will have
them picked up.
Donation Locations:
The Salvation Army Church: 59 Ballantine Street, Cobourg - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 4pm
The Salvation Army CFS office Cobourg: 259A Division Street - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 1pm
The Salvation Army CSS office Port Hope: 100 Peter Street – Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 1pm
Northumberland United Way: 62 Swayne Street, Cobourg – Monday to Thursday 10am – 3pm

School Council is excited to be doing a MUSKOKA Roastery Coffee Co. fundraiser. This company is 100% Canadian owned. They offer regular and decaf ground, regular bean and pods.
Delivery will be before Thanksgiving!

Distance:  Juniors - 2000m +/- 100 m (2 loops)

Intermediates - 3000m +/- 100 m (3 loops)

Girls Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8

Boys Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8

Location/Busses:

Schools should remind their students that the Baltimore Community Centre is off limits during the event as bathrooms are available outside near the course. Buses should drop off in front of the community centre and walk to the back for the meet.

Spectators:
There will be designated areas for the spectators to view the race. We ask the spectators to stay in this designated area (outlined on the map). We ask that spectators do not lean on the ropes and stand behind them for all races. SPECTATORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ARRIVE EARLY PRIOR TO THE RACE THEY WANT TO WATCH AS SCHEDULE IS AN APPROXIMATION!

Parking:

Parking is available at the community centre but spaces could be limited because of programs in the community centre and number of spectators. Please only park in designated parking spots for the event.

The Dale Road Dragon canteen will also be open 2nd break on April 5th.
